we exist
Fast fashion has spent decades copying cultural craft and selling it stripped of meaning. The artisan — the actual person whose hands shaped the cloth — was never mentioned, never centred. Nesavaali was built as the answer. We name the maker. We honour the technique. We design around the textile, not in spite of it.
The Founder
"I grew up between Tamil roots at home and a London design education outside it. For years, I held those two worlds apart. Nesavaali is what happens when I stopped doing that."
— Shangami, Founder & Designer
My grandmother and my mother called cloth a living thing. In the communities where my family is rooted, the person who made your fabric was known. Named. Someone whose technique had been passed through hands, not documents. I founded Nesavaali because I wanted to build something that held both worlds — the integrity of Indian regional craft, and a silhouette worn with authority in any city, in any room.

The Hand Behind The Cloth
Every piece begins with the cloth.
Not a trend.
A technique with history.
A fabric with a community behind it. A maker with a name. This is how Nesavaali has always worked. The textile is the starting point. Everything else is built around it.
Hand block printing — the technique you are watching takes years to learn and cannot be replicated by machine.

"You have spent years editing yourself down for rooms that did not deserve your full register. You chose the safer option. The piece that would not require explanation. The thing that asked nothing of the room and gave nothing back. Nesavaali was made for the moment you stop doing that."
She Said It
"
I want my clothes to feel considered. I'm no longer interested in things that are only beautiful on the surface.
"
I want elegance with a point of view. I want what I wear to say something quietly.
"
I'm drawn to craftsmanship I can feel. I want to buy from brands that know what they stand for.
